# Content Rights Policy for MenuLens

This Content Rights Policy explains the rights and responsibilities regarding content used in and created by MenuLens. By using our App, you agree to respect these content rights and comply with all applicable laws.

## 2. User-Submitted Content

### Menu Photos
When you upload or capture menu photos:

- **Your Rights**: You retain all rights to photos you take
- **License to MenuLens**: You grant us a temporary, non-exclusive license to process your photos solely for translation purposes
- **Duration**: This license expires immediately upon completion of translation
- **Storage**: We do not store your menu photos after processing

### Restrictions
You agree not to upload content that:
- Infringes on any third party's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights
- Contains false, misleading, or deceptive information
- Violates any applicable laws or regulations
- Contains inappropriate, offensive, or harmful content

## 3. MenuLens-Provided Content

### Dish Images
The dish images displayed in our App are sourced from:

- Licensed stock photo providers 
- Public APIs with appropriate usage rights
- Web search results displayed under fair use principles

**Important**: These images are provided for reference only. We do not claim ownership of these images, and they remain the property of their respective copyright holders.

### Translations
- Translations are generated using automated services
- We do not guarantee 100% accuracy of translations
- Translations are provided as-is for informational purposes

## 4. Restaurant Content Rights

### Menu Copyright
- Restaurant menus may be protected by copyright
- MenuLens provides translation services for personal use only
- Users are responsible for ensuring their use complies with applicable laws
- We do not claim any rights to restaurant menu content

### Trademark Usage
- Restaurant names, logos, and branding remain property of respective owners
- We display these only as necessary for menu identification
- No endorsement or affiliation is implied

## 5. Third-Party Content

### API Content
Content retrieved through third-party APIs is subject to:
- The respective API's terms of service
- Original content creator's rights
- Applicable licensing agreements

### Attribution
Where required, we provide attribution for third-party content according to the source's requirements.

## 6. Intellectual Property Protection

### Reporting Violations
If you believe content in MenuLens infringes your intellectual property rights:

2. **Include**:

   - Location of the alleged infringing content

   - Statement of accuracy under penalty of perjury

### Our Response
Upon receiving valid notices, we will:
- Promptly investigate the claim
- Remove or disable access to allegedly infringing content if appropriate
- Notify the user who submitted the content
- Terminate repeat infringers' access to the App

MenuLens operates under fair use principles for:
- Educational purposes (language learning)
- Transformative use (translation services)
- Non-commercial personal use
- Limited reproduction (temporary processing only)

You agree to:
